This is a Recipe for making at home tasty and delicious Restaurant Style Chettinad Chicken prepared in the traditional Chettiar Style of cooking. This is famous chicken preparation, which originated from the Chettinad region of the state of Tamil Nadu.

Ingredients
For the Marination
500 Gram Chicken pieces
½ Cup Curd
1 Tablespoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
½ Teaspoon Garam Masala
½ Teaspoon Chat Masala
Salt as per taste
For the Curry or Gravy
2 Big size Onion (chopped)
2 Big size Tomato (chopped or Puree)
2 Green Chilies (paste)
1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
2 Tablespoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
1 Teaspoon Chat Masala
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
Salt as per taste
For the Seasoning
2 Tablespoon Oil
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
2 Dry Red Chilies
A Pinch Asafoetida
10-12 Curry Leaves
Preparation
Clean and wash the Chicken Pieces.
For the Marinade: mix the Curd, Ginger-Garlic Paste, Red Chili Powder, Black Pepper Powder, ½ Teaspoon Garam Masala, Chat Masala and then add the Chicken Pieces.
Mix it well and keep then into the refrigerator for one hour.
For the Gravy: Heat the Oil in a Pan and then add the Mustard Seeds, Curry Leaves, Dried Red Chilies, Asafoetida, Ginger-Garlic Paste, chopped Onion and then saute for 2-3 minutes on a slow flame.
Then add the chop Tomatoes or Tomato Puree, Green Chilies and saute for 3-4 minutes on a slow flame.
Then add the marinated Chicken, Salt, Garam Masala, Black Pepper, Salt and saute for 5 minutes on a slow flame.
Then add 3 cups Water and cover the Pan with a lid.
Cook the Chicken for 10-12 minutes on a slow flame.
Serve hot with Paratha or Jeera Rice.
