A couple of days back I was invited to have a look at the restaurant Café Hard Rock; part of the famed American Hard Rock chain. As you enter the Pub, housed in a pyramid kind of structure; you can’t help feel impressed with the tall hall with it different kind of ambiance, decorated with rock and roll memorabilia; as is the norm with this chain; new experience altogether for Puneites.
Near the entrance is a shop selling items like T-Shirts, Jackets etc. The main hall comprises along with the sitting arrangement a bar; appears well stuffed, with a stool sitting arrangement. It appears that the restaurant is a no smoking zone; as to the entry of children, I could see none.
The theme was the famed ‘Mojito Mania’. Mojito is a Spanish word for cocktail; comprising of a variety of ingredients in different flavors with mint leaves a common ingredient along with Bacardi Rum. This is a theme specially crafted for summer. For non alcoholics there are Virgin Variants comprising the same flavors; minus the rum.
Along with the cocktails are specially designed Veg and Non Veg Platters and also other specialties like the Mexican specialty dish; the Nachos All accompanied with a variety of American or Continental sauces. There is also a wide range of main course items to choose from.
The Mojito Mania runs from May 13-June 9, 2013 from 7.00 PM and is the only time of the year when this theme is presented to the patrons. Another interesting thing I noted was a few smart good looking girls taking your snapshot, with you permissions of course and these were the displayed on a large screen.
All in all the outing was an enjoyable experience as you do not find such theme restaurants in the Pune nightlife. They accept credit cards; the cost of the outing could probable be in the range of 1000 to 1200 per head; but depends on how many drinks you have; so carry some spare cash.
