This is a Recipe for preparing Besan Ki Kadhi. A simple Kadhi, which uses Gram Flour and Butter Milk or Curds as the main ingredients. The Besan Kadhi goes nicely with rice and is a part of the daily diet of many common folks in most Indian States.
Ingredients
½ Cup Besan (Gram Dal Flour)
1 Cup Butter Milk or Curd
3 Green Chilies
½ Cup Coriander leaves
1 Tea spoon Ginger (shopped)
1 Table spoon Sugar
Salt to taste
2 Cups Water
For Tadka
3 Table spoon Oil
3 Red Chilies
½ Tea spoon Mustard seeds
½ Tea spoon Cumin seeds
¼ Tea spoon Asafetida
½ Tea spoon Fenugreek seeds
10 Curry leaves
4 Cloves
Preparation
Sieve and mix Besan with Butter Milk and water and beat with a mixer so that no lumps form. Heat Oil and add Mustard, Asafetida, Cloves, Cumin Seeds, Fenugreek, Red Chilies and Curry Leaves. Brown just enough to pop seeds and pour over kadhi. Boil it. Adding chopped Chilies, Ginger, Sugar, Salt, Coriander leaves and Curry leaves till well blended. Serve hot with Kadhi.
