This is a Recipe for making at home crispy and tasty Raw Green Banana and Green Peas Vada, called in the Marathi language as Kachya Kalyache- Matar Che Vade and Kele-Mutar Ke Vade/Pakore in Hindi.
This Vada variation, which is deep-fried in a Gram Flour Batter makes the use of raw bananas and green peas as the main ingredients, is a healthy and nutritious snack, which can also be served as an add-on to the main course.
Preparation Time: 45 Minutes
Serves: 10 to 12 Vadas
Ingredients
For the Filling
2 Raw Green Bananas (Pealed, Cooked and Shred)
1 Cup Green Peas (Muter) (Cooked and Mashed)
1 Tea spoon Lemon Juice
2 Table spoon Coriander (chopped)
1 Tea spoon Garam Masala
½ Tea spoon Coriander-Cumin Seeds Powder
Salt as per taste

For the Tadka
1 Table spoon Oil
¼ Tea spoon Asafoetida
2 Green Chilies (chopped)
¼ Tea spoon Turmeric Powder
For the Batter
1 ½ Cup Gram Dal Flour (Besan)
½ Tea spoon Red Chili Powder
¼ Tea spoon Turmeric Powder
Pinch of Asafoetida
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying Banana-Muter Wade
Preparation
For the filling. Mix the Green Peas, Raw Banana, Lemon Juice, Coriander-Cumin Seeds Powder, Garam Masala, Coriander, Salt and Tadka thoroughly and and prepare a Dough. Then prepare small balls from the Dough.
For the batter. Mix the Besan, Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder, Asafoetida, Salt and enough Water and prepare the batter.
Heat the Oil in a Kadhai and dip the small balls in the Besan batter and then deep fry until color change in to light brown.
Serve hot with Tomato Sauce.
