This is a step-by-step Recipe for Vegetarian Cauliflower Peas Keema, a tasty Kheema dish mixing the flavor of meat with cauliflower and green peas. This dish is popularly known as Veg Matar Cauliflower Keema.
Ingredients
1 Large Cauliflower (chopped)
1 ½ Cups Green Peas (boiled)
4 Tomatoes (chopped)
3 Large Onions (chopped)
3 Green Chilies (chopped)
1” Piece Ginger
5 Garlic Cloves
A handful of fresh Coriander
¾ Cup Curd or Cream
6 Tablespoon Oil
1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
Salt as per taste
¼ Teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
Salt as per taste
Preparation
Grind the two Onion, Garlic and Ginger to a paste. Heat the 3-Tablespoon Oil in a Kadhai and then add the chopped Cauliflower and fry until color changes into golden brown, keep stirring continuously. Remove from the Kadhai and keep then aside.
Pour the remaining Oil into the Kadhai and add the Fenugreek Seeds, Cumin Seeds and fry for a minute. Then add the chopped Onion and Green Chilies and fry for a minute. Add the grounded Onion Paste, Garam Masala, Turmeric and Chili Powder and fry until the Oil is visible on the top.
Add the chopped Tomatoes and fry until soft. Add 1 ½ cups of Water and simmer until the gravy is formed. Then add the fried Cauliflower, cooked Peas, half of the chopped Coriander and some more Water if too thick and cook for five minutes in a slow flame.
If the Curds are used, beat, then add to the Curry, simmer just once, and remove.
Serve by garnishing with the rest of the Coriander. In case , if you are using Cream, pour the Curd into a serving bowl, then pour the Cream on top and garnish with Chopped Coriander.
