This is a Recipe for Punjabi Imarti a famous Indian sweet, tastes very much like the more popular Jalebi. The recipe given in this article uses the traditional Punjabi style method for preparing the Imarti.

Ingredients
2 Cups Water Chestnut Flour (Shinghada atta)
1 Teaspoon Ararot Powder
3 Cups Sugar
½ Drop Saffron Essence
1 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
¼ Teaspoon Nutmeg Powder
2 Cups Butter Milk
Ghee for frying the Emruti
Preparation
Mix the Water Chestnut Flour and Ararot Powder and add the Buttermilk. Mix it well and Keep the batter aside for 3 hours. After 3 hours add Saffron Essence, Cardamom Powder, Nutmeg Powder and Orange color and mix it well.
Prepare Sugar Syrup and keep it aside.
Heat the Ghee in a Kadhai, prepare Imarti, and fry until it crispy. Then add into the Sugar Syrup for five-seven minutes.
Serve hot.
