This is simple and easy to follow recipe for preparing at home tasty and delicious Gulkand Ladoo (Red Rose Petal Jam Ladoo) having the rich flavor of Gulkand, Khoya, Suji and a variety of dry fruits.
This is an uncommon and unique Ladoo preparation, experimented by me, which can also be added to the Diwali Faral to make it more attractive.
Gulkand Ladoo for Diwali Faral Preparation Time: 60 Minutes
Serves: 15 Ladu
Ingredients
For the Suji Mixture
2 Cups Suji (Rawa)
¾ Cup Ghee (Ghee + Vanaspati Ghee in equal quantity)
1 ½ Cup Sugar
2-3 Drops Rose Essence
Saffron and Dry fruit pieces for Garnishing
For the Gulkand Filling:
¾ Cup Khoya [Whole Dried Milk]
Two-Tablespoon Rose Petal Jam (Gulkand)
2 Tablespoon Cashew Nut, Almonds thick Powder and Raisin
Preparation
Gulkand Filling
In a kadai sauté the Khoya for a minute and then add the Gulkand and the Cashew nut-Almond Powder and mix it well and keep it aside.
Suji Mixture for the Ladoo
In another kadai melt the Ghee, add the Suji, then roast it on a slow flame until its color changes into light brown, and then remove it from the kadai.
In the kadai, add the Sugar and 1 cup of Water to prepare a Sugar Syrup, boil it until it become slightly sticky.
Then add the Rose Essence, roasted Suji, Raisins and mix it well and then keep it aside for 2-3 hours.
Ladoo preparation
After that take Ladoo sized Suji Mixture and prepare round shaped Ladoo, then make an insertion inside in the Ladoo and stuff a teaspoon of the Gulkand mixture in it and then close the insertion with your hands.
Garnish the Gulkand Ladoo with the Saffron and Dry Fruit pieces.
