This is a step-by-step Recipe for making at home Tasty Spicy Chanadal Paratha for breakfast or for the main course meals. These Dal Parathas can be a useful tiffin box dish for adults as well as school going children.

Preparation Time: 60 Minutes
Serves: 8 Parathas
For the Covering
2 Cups Wheat Flour
2 Tablespoon Ghee
Salt as per taste
For the Stuffing
1 ½ Cup Bengal Gram Dal
2 Tablespoon Ghee
½ Teaspoon Asafetida
1 Teaspoon Coriander-Cumin Powder
1 ½ Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
¼ Cup Coriander Leaves (chopped)
Salt as per taste
Oil for Paratha frying
Ghee for Paratha
Preparation
Mix the Wheat Flour, Ghee, Salt, and Water and prepare a soft Dough and keep it aside for 20-30 minutes. Then prepare 8 equal sized balls from the Dough.
Soak the Gram Dal for ten minutes and then in a pressure cooker add 2 ½ cup Water and the soaked Gram Dal and pressure cook with it until you get three whistles of the pressure cooker Open the lid and keep the Dal aside for cooling.
After cooling the Dal grind it to a paste in a mixer.
Heat two tablespoon Ghee in a Kadai and add the Asafetida, Coriander-Cumin Powder, Red Chili Powder, Garam Masala, Salt and sauté for 30 seconds and the add the grounded Gram Paste, chopped Coriander Leaves and mix it well. Cook it on a slow flame until it becomes little bit dry. Then divide the mixture into eight equal portions.
Roll the Dough ball into a Puri size shape and spread a portion of Gram Dal stuffing over the Puri and close the Puri and roll it again into a Chapatti size shape.
Heat a nonstick Tawa and shallow fry the Paratha with Oil till color changes into light brown.
Serve hot with Tomato Sauce or Chutney after spreading Ghee over the Paratha.
