This is a simple step-by-step Recipe for making at home the famous and popular Bombay Mahim Halwa, also called as the Bombay Ice-Halwa. This is a specificity Maharashtrian Sweet, which is found in most Mithai Shops in Maharashtra. You can also prepare this Halwa during the Diwal festival to add variety to your Diwali Faral.

Preparation Time: 45 Minutes
Serves: 12-15 Pieces
Ingredients
1 Cup Refined Flour
3 Cups Sugar
3 Cups Vanaspati Ghee
1 Cup Water
7-8 Green Cardamom
4-6 Almonds (cut in thin pieces)
Some Charoli Nuts [Chironji]
2-3 Drops of any color you wish to add, like, yellow, green or orange.
Preparation
Mix the Refined Flour, Sugar, 1 Cup Vanaspati Ghee and Water in a Kadai.
Keep the Kadai on a slow flame and keep stirring the Mixture until it become thick.
While stirring the Mixture add Ghee and keep stirring.
When the Mixture becomes thick, pour it over a stainless steel plate and spread evenly over the plate. Then cut it into big sized pieces.
If you want to add the color then add the Color into half the portion of the mixture.
After spreading the Mixture, garnish it with thin stripes of Cardamom and Almond.
