This is a recipe for making at home onion or pyaz ki sabzi. This is a very simple, yet filling and wholesome sabzi prepared using onions as the main ingredient. The pyaz ki sabzi or Kandyachi Bhaji as this vegetable dish is called in the Marathi language can be served with pooris, roti, paratha or even rice during the main course meals.

Preparation Time: 25 Minutes
Serves: 3-4 Persons
Ingredients
500 grams onions
60 ghee/vanaspati
½ teaspoon turmeric[haldi powder]
1 teaspoon red chill powder[lal mirch]
1 teaspoon garam masala
A few coriander leaves
half a tomato
Salt as per taste
Preparation
Slice the onions thickly.
Heat the ghee/vanaspati in a Kadai and add the onions, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala and salt and fry for 4-5 minutes over a high flame.
Then, lower the flame and cover the Kadai with a lid and cook until the onions are soft.
Garnish with the coriander leaves and keep the tomato on top while serving.
